I am currently waiting on the installation of solar panels and a battery pack for my home here in Minnesota.
Two of the requirements I had when selecting the system were "will work when the grid is offline" and "does not need to connect to the internet".
Per Cory Doctorow (npub1fdr…lvhs) about the particular absurdity of home solar panel systems that require both the grid and the internet to be working.
