I literally didn't write about trans issues, at all, from 2014 to roughly 2018 or 2019.
Part of it was not centering myself in the war on fascism, part of it was not wanting to be pidgeon-holed by an objectively transphobic society, as a "trans writer who writes about trans things and can be ignored on every other subject."
Something changed. What was it? Oh right, it's when nazis decided that the absolute first thing they had to do, was wipe out trans ppl.
Then, I wrote to defend my people.
