Depending on your situation, kids, guests, etc., you might go with a second rapid access box with biometric or such to give a quicker access than your safe but better security than having it sitting on your dresser.
If there’s no chance of unauthorized persons accessing your primary defense gun, or you just keep it on you then maybe you don’t need that.
