Yeah, it's not really about the fingernails as such, just that you shouldn't assume that someone living on a farm in a farmhouse is actually farming at all. It's pretty common for folks around here to lease out all their farmland for cash cropping and just collect a rent. Or they own a big farm operation and hire TFWs to do all the actual work.
