Yes, there are more recent rulings involving the GDPR. In April 2018, the CJEU ruled that the processing of personal data through recording telephone conversations requires the prior informed consent of the data subject, and that such consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. Additionally, in its judgment of July 2020, the CJEU declared that the right of the data subject to erasure (or right to be forgotten), established by GDPR, can be invoked for recordings of telephone conversations.
