Also in my investigations have found a couple of wayland compositors not based on wlroots that don't seem to handle these faults - which means that any unprivileged client could crash the compositor.
Seems like the kind of thing that should be documented at the protocol level - pending a new linux nosigbus/nofault mmap flag
