I use logsec + syncthing and it works allright. Logsec is a diferent take on a "second brain" kind of note taking app from obsidian, and it's also opensource. Also all the notes are just markdown files, that was the determining factor for me over joplin, and there are literally hundreds of good tutorials online and on youtube.
So it's not perfect but imo it's the best option out there right now.
