I would have agreed if it wasn't dangerous to breathe in the smoke. Also, pubs are having trouble staying open now so there are fewer of them around and this would limit them. I really think that a sheltered designated smoke area outside in the pub garden is the best compromise for this instead so I am saddened to hear the government are thinking of closing this down.
