Nostr is very much alive, in both senses of the word. I am unbothered by these metrics because I've felt my connections and engagement strengthen over the duration that I've used it.

I think it does. I'd say the organic, slow growth strengthens the core community. It inhales (influx of new users), exhales - prunes out weak connections (bored/unready users leave) and makes the lasting ones stronger
