Years ago I remember a story of an elementary school class that wrote poems and made a booklet of them for their families. One of the kids drew a cover for it that included Mickey Mouse. Disney sued, and the school lost and had to pay a fine.
It's interesting to see how now when Mickey enters public domain the collective cultural instinct isn't the love and appreciation of children, but to ridicule, violate, and ruin him.
