"content": "Does it help if you use a UUID via `/dev/disk/by-id` instead of `/dev/sda1` as your root device?\n\nI wonder if your VPS is doing something to cause the disk to show up under a different device.\n\nAlso, you can use `boot.shell_on_fail` on the kernel command line when booting to drop into a shell and see what's in `/dev/`.",
