I was listening to an episode of the EMPIRE podcast, with guest historian Fredrik Logevall, who said that Ho Chi Minh had worked at the Parker Hotel as a pastry chef. Of *course* I immediately thought, ‘Boston Cream Pie’ and had to look up when it was first made. [There was some intimation that there might be a plaque and I happened to working very close the hotel so I stopped in briefly to see if I could find something, but no dice.]",
