Yes, you should only get time of use if you have a battery. So my two older brothers have battery and solar.
One uses SolarZero. Which cost nothing to install. But the company keeps most of the profit, but fixes prices. You need an acceptable roof for the install.
My other brother has Tesla power wall, and solar, and the Tesla system buys and sells automatically on the spot market to pay for itself. But because he paid for the equipment outright, he keeps all the profit.
