Technologieoffenheit meets reality: the transport ministry is freezing hydrogen train projects until further notice, due to the technology's shortcomings. When I looked around in 2021 or so, I found that the trains cost about twice as much as battery trains and four times as much as conventional electric trains with pantographs.
