I've said it before, I'll say it again.
The best growth hack for web 2.0 companies was their open APIs. This effectively allowed them to have hundreds to thousands of engineers adding value to their centralized platform without needing to pay them or manage them.
When the time came to find an exit, those companies pulled the plug on what made them most valuable and closed or severely limited their api access. See twitter and reddit.
Nostr will have an open api forever.
