well that's a weird error in the music player DeaDBeeF. Seems like after upgrading to flac 1.5.0:
error: libFLAC.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
the workaround:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libFLAC.so /usr/lib/libFLAC.so.12

Edit: Fixed by re-building/re-installing deadbeef after upgrading flac
