I must admit that when I left twitter 2 years ago and moved to Mastodon I was completely ignorant of what it really was other than a a Twitter alternative. A couple of online geeky retro techy people who I really respect online recommended it.
As I quickly became aware of what it really is I am a full convert and respect what it and the wider fediverse is about.
