In ’98 I immigrated to Canada from the US. My Canadian Immigration Officer tried to talk me out of it, saying my liberal vote was needed in the US more than in Canada. Of course I didn’t listen. A few years later I had to return to the states due to family issues. The years I lived there I always felt relief when crossing the border northbound. Today I am torn between hearing that I.O. and wanting to return to a saner country. I struggle with where would my presence most useful. #CA #USA
