I'm confused, what is it exactly that you find unpalatable with Mozilla's direction that makes you think
switching to librewolf is a better idea?
npub1l0fczkukz24x2fj5pj9tele880x4vfun5qv3q8t2jzjz6uw738psc2acen (npub1l0f…acen) well, it has been a long time coming, actually, I have been less and less pleased with the the Mozilla corporation has been taking Firefox for a few years now. But check the TechCrunch article I linked, they go into detail, they are going to be running machine learning algorithms in Firefox now. The stated goal is to spot fake images, which sounds like a noble goal, but basically this means Firefox users are now going to be contributing computing resources to an AI arms race where deep fakes are trained to try to defeat Firefox AI detection. I want no part of this, especially if the machine learning is enabled by default.
I am well and truly sick of this latest AI hype cycle now, it really seems to be all-consuming, at least for everything in tech.
