I think the right approach is to remember we are only human and prone to error. there's nothing wrong with reaching outside of your caste, especially if the high-risk of rejection doesn't fall on you. but don't make a mockery of love if you feel it and don't say it's not there if it is.

too many people might be counting on you to say it's not, yourself included; and in that case, you should keep it that way for your own sake.

I don't think anyone deliberates the meaning of fate more than people on the opposite ends of reality, but nobody is asking you to feel guilty about it. the awkwardness of being everyone's lucky break could make a simple thing feel obligatory if it's not what your heart really desires.

and in all honesty, it's kinda like looking into a two-way mirror without the observer's advantage - an entertaining kind of voyeurism that I'll never know or understand. maybe the conversation shouldn't happen because I don't think it's useful to know what parts were accurate and what parts came from total madness or something in-between.

think about all the people whose endless and relentless mockery relies on you - it would be like telling them they deserve to be disappointed and they'll call you a class traitor.

tbh, it's not like you owe me an apology for something I don't actually know for a fact that you did. I can't promise I wouldn't cry for a couple different reasons anyway and nobody needs to witness a scene like that.
