St Kilda was unviable for many reasons though, it would never have
survived. Same with the Monach Isles (Heisgeir) too. Supposed to have
been a nunnery there around 13th to 14thC. It was left in 1947.
Before that it was abandoned for a while in early 1800s due to over
grazing, then repopulated for a while after the Clearances.
