Do you already have a NAS or plan on buying building one? What is your technical ability level? TrueNAS or Synology make good choices.
NextCloud Nextcloud 📱☁️💻 (npub1rk6…hv4q) would be and obvious recommend.
BitWarden/VaultWarden Bitwarden (npub1ajf…rx6k) works great for passwords VaultWarden being self hostable. But even still hardware 2fa keys like Yubikey or NitroKey for extra security buy 2 and keep one in a secure location as backup.
Doing a media server? Use Jellyfin Jellyfin (npub107n…uj9u) over Plex. Plex has been putting too many features behind a paywall.
You can also run your own search engine such as SearX.
Jitsi and Jami Jami (npub1kdq…rvxz) are both worth looking into. Email wise, you could deploy your own ( Michael W Lucas¹ :flan_mail: (npub1ksf…r6s6) has book upcoming on the subject) or use Tuta (npub1tk7…0m5c) as a backup service.
