One day I'll probably understand how a #Kafka broker sitting basically idle and with no traffic on a server I own eventually ends up eating ~1GB of RAM.
#Java and Java-based languages are everywhere, and just because we've decided to just pack more RAM in our machines every couple of years we've forgotten just how messy and wasteful they are when it comes to memory usage.
