It's easy and it could happen to anybody.
While flailing around trying to figure out which web browser is going to run the "fastest" and have the least resource drain on our massively underutilized hardware, we sometimes start exploring.... Alternatives. And then we realize that these alternatives are just rebranded versions of Chrome or Firefox. And *then* we try (however briefly) actual alternatives like Opera. It's almost always inevitably short-lived though, and for good reason(s).
Opera has some performance benefits (or used to have, anyway), sure, but you gotta deal with a UI that is /so/ 90s.
