I don't want to retroactively denigrate effort of the Great Slate, it *did* have some good ideas, some of which are echoed here. But its protagonist, even before his recent heel-turn, was a bit of a know-it-all who thought he could outsmart existing systems rather than recruiting experts to ask them what needed doing. This slate was assembled by a political scientist, not a tech person.
