I remember in the 70's and 80's joining in the quilting circle that my grandmother and aunts would do every week.

Raised by my coalminer's wife grandmother, she insisted we all, boys included, learned how to sew and esp, "mend the holes in your pants from rough housing."

When I pick up a needle it's like yoga for me. Takes me to a different world.
