Teachable is such a racket—in many ways, similar to the Substackocalypse happening for newsletter creators. They are expensive as hell, but handle things like payment processing, etc. in ways that make them cheaper in the long run than other hosts, and certainly less labor-intensive than running one's own LMS. I've done that enough in the past and have tried desperately to avoid it.
