Great Britain’s renewable energy auction has secured enough new projects to power 11m UK homes, with a total of 131 new projects, after the new Labour government increased the amount of funding available to 7 times the sums offered last year.
However, it secured only half the offshore wind capacity needed every year if the government hopes to meet its green energy targets, according to Greenpeace.
