SCSI (regular), USB, SCSI (Epson), or a variety of internal and PowerBook models. If you were super-lame you could even hook one up to your PC's printer port 😅. These were everywhere and then *click* they were nowhere.
1999 me used the USB one as the 'only' way to get files between my (school) Compaq Presario (Win98 with one USB port!) and Performa 6400 with USB card. No idea where the blue one came from, and the Epson was a bucket list item last year!
