The FT is reporting that Rachel Reeves seems to be hinting that she will (after all) follow her predecessors as Chancellor & reconfigure the fiscal rules (specifically their accounting for pubic debt);
as this will likely be the 9th revision of the fiscal rules since 2010, no-one should really be surprised that she is looking for a way to square the circle of fiscal probity *and* increased public spending;
Of course the Tories will criticise, but forget they changed them 8 times!
