Been making a little box in the shop today. 5mm thick salt cedar sides, dovetailed (because I can) with some 1/16” exotic hardwood for a top and bottom (I think that came from an Ocooch Hardwoods exotics sampler pack). No photos yet, but the box is together, the hinges are on, and the first coat of tung oil went on before I broke for dinner. When completed, it’ll hold a pen that will be a retirement gift for my primary care doc. Tomorrow, latch & more finishing. And photos. #woodworking
