Looking at both these points, I think it's helpful to bring up that, as you just said, it's not necessarily malice when people use this kind of phrasing. I don't necessarily assume that Nus here is thinking in the terms you just described, but I can totally see that a lot of people are reading it in those terms.
And that brings me back to the original point here...
There's a lot of language being used in here that is derailing the conversation, and a lot of people wading in who aren't really thinking about that, creating a rift that makes it harder to actually have a civil discussion here.
I don't know that it would be appropriate to stop using the phrase "genocide", as that is literally what Israel has been charged with in the International Court, and literally the heart of what a lot of us are really concerned about with the Netanyahu administration's handling of this, but I also think it's reasonable to say "careful talking about the Holocaust."
