Today I was randomly reminded of when I worked for a vuln research shop that eventually got acquired and the new owners, much to our chagrin, insisted we run some <big vendorrrrr> whitelabel MDM software that was managed out of some 4th party SOC. The team promptly decided to take apart the MDM software and giddily delivered the RCE-laden report to our new management, demonstrating how the MDM actively decreased our security posture. Surprisingly enough our devices remained MDM free 👍
