Not my experience. I have a routing node in which I route about 150-300 payments on the worst days. And it is a small node, I can imagine big nodes routing ten of thousands of them every day. Multiply that by 10k LN nodes out there and you'll see LN overpass onchain number of payments by hundreds of times, if not thousands.
