This is, in my opinion, why Android is probably the worst example of “open source” since actually USABLE Android is not at all what Google opened the source on. There seem to be a lot of good “distros” out there but it’s shocking to me that they must all be reinventing the wheel and that there is still no convergence to a set of common “standard solutions.”
