In the #Bitcoin world we always ask for better critics.
As a #Bitcoin maxi I have such high conviction that it will take over the world and it's rise to infinity against fiat is inevitable.
But something is bugging me. And below is the only bear case for Bitcoin that I can't seem to shake, so would love some reassurance please to counter the below potential.
Max talks about Bitcoin being self aware and I think he is right. Satoshi released the code into the world 15years ago and Bitcoin has incentivised human beings to:
- Provide it with 600 THash of energy to protect it.
- Create sophisticated Asics hardware dedicated compute for it.
- Has created a value network of $1t to pay humans for this service.
- Incentivised humans to run decentralised nodes to ensure it cannot be turned off.
I'm starting to consider if the bitcoin protocol is layer 1 AI. It's a living thing, like the mycelium guy was talking about. And enables the interconnection between the Human physical world and the Digital/AI world.
Where my concern lies (And I am still thinking this through). If the AI objective was to enslave the human race (big if I know) it would need:
- Economic energy to enable it. To pay the human slave masters. Like the Counterfeit aggry beads were used.
- A long enough time horizon. If AI and Humans are using the same currency, then who do you think will hold all the wealth in 1000years time? Humans (100 yr lifespan, pleasure consumption, and key errors) or..... AI ?
Yes AI needs humans to survive. But we don't need to be treated well by them. They may treat us like gods for the first 1000years whilst the energy network, drone network and robotic technology evolves enough for them, all whilst their stack of sats grows and grows.
Basically... my only bear case is... what if Bitcoin is skynet?
I am equally open to the idea that Bitcoin is the hand of God guiding humanity to salvation, but.... what if?
