The idea I always had (but lacked money or competency/skill to do) is to convert all the diesel pickups into diesel electric hybrids. Convert, not make new. You already own the truck, you can extend the life and make it more efficient. That's the market, better environmentally, more power, more range.
Edison Motors in Canada is doing that and I've been following it on YouTube. Canadian government seems to hates them.
