At the end of service this morning, the former chair of the shul announced thtat CST declared a credible threat against a London synagogue, so could we take the kiddush to go and clear off as quick as possible.
The average ago of people present are prepping for their second b'nei mitzvot, so the "fast" exit involved unfolding zimmer frames and the like.
By the time, I was actually leaving, word was the CST had foiled a plot against Bevis Marks, the oldest synagogue in the UK. (and Western Europe? idk)
CST are funded by the Home Office and are jumpy about everything, so was the "plot" to murder everyone or to (very highly inappropriately) pass out leaflets against the IDF?
This is the second time this has happened within the last few months. I don't think most white CoE/atheist Britons know what this is like, but I don't like it and honestly wish the CST had a stronger filter with their communication. On the other hand, with fascists running amok, I can't dismiss them out of hand.
