We also kept our old envirowaste rubbish bin when the contract ended, and we're going to use it for garden water storage once we get it hooked up to a down pipe.
Also I've been known to put a bucket in the shower when the water is heating up etc. Then I take the bucket for a walk once the shower is finished.
