Sure, but the Metric system (as is) is still better than the Imperial for one simple thing.
A standard base. The idea that your units of measurement simply get bigger in multiples or smaller by dividing by that same base is what makes it so easy to comprehend.
We COULD have a base 12 metric system, sure. We COULD have a base 5, or base 6, or base 8, or base 20 metric system.
The main winning point is...that base is consistent...versus say: 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard and 1760 yards in a mile. XD, 16 ounces to a pound, and 2000 pounds to a ton. XD
