It's not the developers of amethyst fault. It's the free relay fault. The administrators don't want to put a small fee on their relays to join. That would cut down on spam.
There is really nothing they can do. They have been trying to beat spammers for decades with many solutions but it always fails. The best solution I found is the relay administrators have to put a fee on their relay to join. You can use paid relays but there is still a big amount of users using the free relays and the relay software is new and still being worked on.
