I was checking on the dual sided suet feeder we have hanging off the balcony a few minutes ago, and there was a downy woodpecker just perching on it without feeding. After a few minutes, I became concerned that it had perhaps become frozen to the feeder, or something, so I opened the door to check on it. It let me get within about a foot before it flew away, I think it was resting and enjoying the little bit of sun. Now I feel badly for disturbing it!
