In my experience inflation speeds up everyone’s time preference to buy. Deflation slows down time preference. You create a nation of saver’s and are only willing to part with funds for those things which are worth trading up for. This creates an environment of high quality goods competing for your money. Really is a powerful concept. To have a perfect public ledger, perfectly divisible, perfectly transferable with a hard coded supply, that cannot be manipulated by those in power is really a powerful idea and tool.
