If everybody who says 3rd party candidates aren't viable actually voted for one, they would be entirely viable. Overnight.
The core of this entire battle is in the framing. The moment we relinquish our moral center, and allow it to be moved to a place where we accept the normalization of genocide, we're fucked. When we're actively trying to help and defend war criminals, we've already lost the most important struggle and we're getting dragged along carrying water for the protofascist neoliberal agenda-- helping make its claims that no other candidates are "viable" a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The system keeps the focus of our discourse on arguing as if the most important fight is already over and forgotten-- deliberately. People rush to accept that distorted frame in order to debate the extremely compelling issue used to bait it-- should we eat half a bowl of shit or the whole bowl of shit?? -- instead of stopping to say, WHY the hell are we eating this shit.
