Can lactose be synthesized? It’s a sugar that naturally occurs in milk, but as a chemical ingredient it might not have actually come from milk.
That said, most hand sanitizers smell and feel gross, regardless of ingredient origins. Just give me some rubbing alcohol, maybe scented with an essential oil like lavender.
