I see people blame optimizers for forbidding persistent connections, but I prefer thinking that it is a conceptual problem with mobile environments. In the end to keep the connection you need some program to be loaded, and it can consume RAM and run at random moments. It should be possible to completely kill a program and it still should work correctly.
