I see kind of a weird resolution to all of this. I do believe the GOP and that other trash will mostly succeed in fracturing the system, but I think the rest of us will step in when that happens, take out that trash and require reform on our terms. By that I mean the Government as well.
I see the dissolution of political parties, removal of corrupt politicians and the cutting out of all corporate lobbying, to name a few.
The Fediverse has given us an example of a diverse and (mostly) stable culture and I think that concept will spread beyond just the virtual world.
