Iwao Hakamata was convicted of murder in 1968 in Japan. Now a retrial judge has ruled that investigators falsified evidence and bullied him into a false confession. Hakamada is 88 years old, and is mentally unwell as a result of spending years on death row. He was unable to attend the retrial because of that.
