So you have two power supplies? Should be fine as long as either you've perfect DC current and common ground but without proper handling you could quite easily end up with backfeeding or potential differences and thereby fry one of the systems.
That's what I meant with you should have electrical engineering knowledge. This is where it gets complicated and where you'd have a lot of unexpected edge cases.
