A few years ago there were 2 siblings at the same childminder as my daughter. Tragic story. The mum was a drug and drink addict, perennially homeless, and already pregnant again. Eventually the state mandated that she give up the kids for adoption.
I just saw the person who adopted the boy.
"How's his sister?" I asked.
Turns out they don't see each other any more. A really rich family - a friend of the Royals, no less - adopted the girl, and now she thinks her (ex)brother is ... common.
